Harry J. Goossens, Chief Executive OfficerFounder and CEO, Harry Goossens, has been in the fire protection industry since 1971 and established Total Fire Protection, Inc. in 1991. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Enschede in the Netherlands. Through the years, he has worked in many positions in fire protection including engineering, estimating and sales, and field coordination. He has also served as a consultant to architects and mechanical engineers on numerous design/build projects throughout the United States, Canada, and Netherlands. His vast experience and commitment to quality service has helped him build a company known for its accuracy, responsiveness, and reliability. Ryan Goossens, PresidentRyan has been in the fire protection industry since 1995, working part-time as a student and full-time since graduating college. He holds a business degree from Taylor University in Indiana. Having “grown up in the business” under the watchful eye of his father, Ryan has gained a keen understanding of fire protection systems and the industry as a whole. Hard-working, supportive of his staff, and committed to the company and its customers, Ryan has earned a reputation of doing whatever it takes to meet (and exceed) customers’ expectations. Jon Goossens, Vice PresidentIn 2001, Jon began working in the field for TFP prior to attending college, and continued working while attending Grand Valley State University. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, he attended Grand Rapids Community College for CAD training. He has also graduated from the American Fire Sprinkler Association Design School and currently holds a NICET Level III Certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology. Thomas A. Gustafson, Vice President of SalesTom began working in the fire sprinkler industry in 1972 as an apprentice pipe fitter, and later, as a pipe fabricator. He was then trained in fire protection design and worked for 15 years as a designer of several types of sprinkler systems. Following that, he worked in sales and served as an area sales manager of a national sprinkler installation company. In 2006, he joined TFP. Tom has been formally trained in Special Hazard Sprinkler Systems, AutoCAD, and project management. He holds a NICET Level IV Certification in Automatic Sprinkler Systems and a Michigan State Mechanical Contractor License in fire suppression. Tom is also past President of the West Michigan Fire Sprinkler Association. Daniel W. McKee, Sales, Marketing and EstimatingAfter graduating from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Dan went to work for a national sprinkler company in 1980. He returned to the Grand Rapids area in 1983, later becoming the owner and President of a regional mid-sized fire protection company. In 2011, TFP had the good fortune of welcoming Dan to their team. Matt Hanes, Chief DesignerMatt has been in the fire protection industry since 2002 and during this time, graduated from the American Fire Sprinkler Association Design School. He installed sprinkler piping for four years, and then began designing all types of systems in 2006. He holds a NICET Level III Certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology and is currently working towards Level IV. Phil Haan, Service ManagerSince 1999, Phil has worked in the fire protection industry in various roles. In 2007, TFP created the Service Manager position and awarded it to Phil. In this role he wears many different hats including sales, service, estimating, and project management. Phil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western Michigan University. David Gard, Service ManagerDavid has been in the industry since 2003, spending his first five years in the field performing a variety of roles. In 2008, he joined the TFP Service Department to perform inspections, testing, and maintenance. In 2012, David became a Service Manager, handling scheduling and distribution of inspections, service work coordination, estimating, sales, and project management. Stewart Garrett, TFP West ManagerStewart began his career in fire protection in 2006 as a designer. In 2008, he helped establish Prairie Fire Sprinkler in Central Illinois. There, his responsibilities included estimating, design, and project management. In May 2013, he joined TFP to establish the Western division in Colorado. He holds a NICET Level III Certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology and an Associate’s Degree in Construction Design & Management from Parkland College in Illinois. |
